Shimmer is the second book in the Riley Bloom serious, the first book, Radiance is about how Riley dies in a car crash with her parents and he dog, Buttercup. She is appointed the job of Soul Catcher, to catch and lead wandering or lost souls over the bridge into Here & Now. Now she is on vacation with her dog when she meets Rebecca, a sweet girl who died in a slave revolt on her father's plantation. But Rebecca is not as sweet as she seems and she soon drags Riley, Bodhi, and Buttercup into her world of nightmares and terrible memories. In her own little world she captured all of the slave's souls and kept them trapped in their worst memories, can Riley save Rebecca and her friends or will she have to leave them there inside their worst nightmares-or worse, will she be caught up in them too?
