The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate (*****)
This book is about a girl named Calpurnia Virginia Tate. She lives in 1899. In her household she lives with seven brothers, her Mom & Dad, and a very mysterious Grandfather. Her oldest brother, Harry, gave her a little red notebook to write her observations in. When she has a question about grasshoppers she goes to her grandfather as a last resort. He does not give the awnser, only clues. When she finally finds it she makes a close relationship with her Grandpa, who is a naturalist and also is trying to find a way to make pecans into whiskey. Read the book to read Calpurnia's whole story.
I listened to this book and it was nine hours and six minutes total. I will give this book five out of five stars (*****) because it was a good story and interesting to learn about how life was in the 1800's.
