Ellie McDoodle: Have Pen, Will Travel

This book is a graphic novel! It is about a teenage girl who has a notebook. It is a lot like Harriet The Spy. It is similar because a girl has a notebook and she writes and draws mean things about people. Ellie draws her cousin as a monster, icky, smelly, stinky, gross. But something happens when she goes on a hike from their camp ground, leaving her notebook behind... Read the book to see what happens next!!!

This book is 170 pages long. I'll give it four out of five stars (****) !!!

I can see why you think it's like Harriet the Spy!! I also didn't realize this was a graphic novel. It really does look like a "journal."

I enjoy reading your blog!

Great idea to compare to another book you have read. Sounds suspenseful. I'm glad to see a new blog up - keep up the great reading and writing! You're a great thinker!

Wow, what a great review. It's funny how you described Eric. And you did a good job enticing the reader. You make them want to find out more. That's the mark of a good reviewer.
I'm so honored you read, enjoyed and reviewed my book. Normally I don't respond to reviews on blogs -- it seems a little self centered for me to -- but I wanted you to know I think you did a very professional job here.
I'll give you this scoop: Ellie McDoodle: Best Friends Fur-Ever, about animals, is the third book and it'll come out in summer, 2010, if I manage to meet all my deadlines for it. I'll have to work very hard. It's a big job, and I want each book to be better than the one that came before it.
We'll see if I can do that...
Thanks, Emma! (PS - what a long comment this is. Sorry!)
